Low Carbon Hub champions community-owned energy across Oxfordshire through their Community Grant Fund, which offers financial support for community energy activities in the county.
We were lucky enough to have Low Carbon Hub CEO, Barbara Hammond, join one of our Phoenix meetings in January 2024, and following this visit applied for one of the Low Carbon Hub grants.
The £5000 grant was awarded to us on the strength of previous Thame Green Living organised energy events, including the Energy Expo in October 2023, in which Phoenix Energy Community played a part. The grant funding will be used to help Phoenix EC communicate to our local communities the role that community energy can play in providing energy security and efficiency to homes and businesses in our area. This will include setting up the Phoenix Energy Community website and organisation of a series of community energy ‘roadshow’ events starting early 2025.
